Paul Walker Dies In Car Crash – UPDATE!

According to several sources (most notably: TMZ), Paul Walker has died in a violent LA car accident, an irony to end all ironies. Walker is best known for being a key part of the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise and ‘She’s All That’. Shock and horror are currently pulsing through the internet at both the tragic circumstances of his death, as well as Paul’s sadly young age (40 yrs). He leaves behind one child, a daughter, Meadow. More news as it comes.

Tragically, this is not a cruel death- hoax, as Paul Walker’s reps (via Facebook) and Variety, have now posted the sad news.

“Most recently, Walker was in production on the seventh installment of the “Fast and Furious” franchise — an eerie reality given the nature of his death. The street racing franchise is Universal’s most valuable active pic franchise. Walker’s death will undoubtedly leave a significant void in the pic now in production and subsequent installments.”

This is just so horribly tragic.  Our hearts and prayers to go Paul’s family and friends, as well as the cast and crew filming Fast and The Furious 7, also starring Jason Statham.

Whitney Houston – Dead at 48 **Update** – Autopsy Being Performed Today

The last photo of Whitney and daughter, Bobbi Kristina

The Los Angeles Times is reporting the following:

At approximately 3:43 p.m. the Beverly Hills Police Department received a 911 call to respond to the Beverly Hilton hotel regarding a medical emergency. Police and fire personnel were immediately dispatched. Fire Department personnel were already on scene at the hotel due a pre-Grammy event taking place later this evening.

Fire Department personnel, accompanied by hotel security, responded to the hotel room occupied by entertainer Whitney Houston. Upon arrival, first responders discovered Whitney Houston unresponsive.  They initiated CPR, but were unable to revive her.  At approximately 3:55 pm. Whitney Houston, age 48, was pronounced dead at the scene. Whitney Houston was positively identified at the scene by members of her entourage, which included friends, co-workers and family. Ms. Houston’s daughter and mother were notified of her death.

Beverly Hills Police detectives and crime scene investigators were called to the scene to conduct a death investigation. This is a common practice whenever a death occurs which is unattended and unexpected. The investigation is currently being conducted and there is no additional information at this time.

The actual cause of death will be determined by the [Los Angeles County] Coroner’s Office.

It’s being hinted that Whitney was found in the bathtub of her room at the Beverly Hills Hilton.  Twitter is flooded with mentions about whether Clive Davis did the right thing by going through with his annual pre-Grammy event–which was indeed held at the same hotel where Whitney’s body was found.

Clive Davis told the crowd at the Pre-Grammy Gala …

“By now you have all learned of the unspeakably tragic news of our beloved Whitney’s passing. I don’t have to mask my emotion in front of a room full of so many dear friends. I am personally devastated by the loss of someone who has meant so much to me for so many years.

Whitney was so full of life. She was so looking forward to tonight even though she wasn’t scheduled to perform. She loved music and she loved this night that celebrates music.

My heart goes out to her daughter Bobbi Christina, to her mother Cissy, to all of her relatives and to so many of you here tonight, her extended family who loved and cherished her and her spirit.

Whitney was a beautiful person and a talent beyond compare. She graced this stage with her regal presence and gave so many memorable performances here over the years. Simply put, Whitney would have wanted the music to go on and her family asked that we carry on.

I ask that you join me in a moment of silence as we dedicate this evening to Whitney.”

By all accounts, Clive, who discovered Whitney as a teenager, was like family.  He never turned his back on Whitney throughout all of her troubled years of addiction.  I say Mr. Davis was in a no-win situation and was probably devastatingly heartbroken and numb at the same time. Whitney has left her mother without a daughter and her daughter without a mother. Let that sink in for a second.

I will say it again…and until I’m blue:  If you haven’t had addiction worm its way into your life directly or through a loved one, you have no idea what it does to a family, to the addict, to yourself.  Count yourself as supremely fortunate if you haven’t felt this darkness.

We understand that the autopsy for Whitney Houston us being performed by the Los Angeles County Coroner today.

We here at Dipped in Cream would love to hear you memories of Whitney…and anything else you feel like sharing.  We’re here for you,  just as you’re here for us.

Happy Halloween from Dipped in Cream! Your Treat is a “Ren and Stimpy” Video! **UPDATE**

This Halloween has been a complete and utter suck-fest. My husband SilverFox, my best gay Patrick and I were all set for a great Halloween.  Costumes? Check.  Then it all turned to hell…and not in a good “everyone’s goin’ to hell and that’s where the party is” kind of way.  Gotdamnit.  Patrick made other plans, and I’ve been fighting an icky infection, with even ickier meds for over about month now. So, instead SilverFox and I have been watching stuff like The Inside Story of “Silence of the Lambs” on the Biography Channel, to cheer me up, instead of leaving the house.

Another strange phenomenon has occurred in my heart and my head is that I’m mourning the loss of my boys’ childhood.  Halloween was always The. Big. Party.  The time spent on figuring out who we were “gonna be” for Halloween, then making the perfect costumes was EPIC–and I loved it.  We ALL did.  We were the total party house…and now it’s over.  (In all reality, it’s been over for years, but since I’m feeling sorry for myself, I might as well go whole hog, oui?)

Sure, our three-year old grandson Felix gets to dress up, and hopefully, we’ll get to see him in his costume this year, because we’ve been forgotten every year since he was born for Halloween.  (Hey, I heard that gasp. I’m allowed to be as passive-aggressive as the rest of my family, okay?) In reality, I think we’ll probably get to see our li’l Punkin-Doodle tonight.

Hey, now!  Look who showed up this afternoon!  The li’l Punkin’-Doodle and his daddy, Alex!

Felix and Alex - say it with me..."awwwwww!"

Extra credit if you recognize the shirt Alex is wearing…

Badass 80's Rocker...but what movie is that shirt from? Hmmmm?

Get this, though, a few days ago, I was at the magazine rack at the grocery store…and there it was: Martha Stewart’s Halloween Issue 2011. My throat tightened up.  I literally had to swallow the tears welling up that I rarely even shed anymore.  Suddenly, I felt like I was no longer needed as a mother. (Just let me be the Dramatic Whore that I am for a second, okay?)  You guys DON’T. EVEN. KNOW.  (Sniff…sniff…)

So to torture myself even more, I’m posting a favorite Ren and Stimpy episode that Alex, Hunter and I used to love,  from 1992 — when Alex was 8 and Hunter was 2  1/2.  Sigh…

I hope YOU had and continue to have a decent Halloween, though.  And, hey send me some pictures–I’ll post them.  Just don’t send nasty ones, or I’ll be pissed.
