Yikes. Another one. But in all fairness, Tony Curtis lived one HELL of a life.
Tony died last night at his home in Henderson, Nevada, just outside of Las Vegas. He had suffered from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease for years.
Tony Curtis was a wild man. A real Movie Star. A painter. A bit of an oddball. A womanizer, and probably not the best father or husband…but he admitted to all of those traits. He was married a crapload of times, most notably to Janet Leigh (from the classic Psycho) and had two children, Jamie Lee Curtis and Kelly Curtis.
Curtis was probably best known for his co-starring role with Marilyn Monroe in Some Like It Hot, where he dressed in drag along with Jack Lemmon. Classic film. Time to add it to your queue if you haven’t already.
And lest we forget? Tony Curtis also provided the voice for Stoney Curtis on The Flintstones.
I love this quote Tony gave a few years ago…
“Eighty f—ing years old. I don’t feel any different now than I did when I was 30,” he told Esquire in 2006. “Dying, I just don’t feel like it.”
