What we have for your recommended viewing displeasure is the next in a series on Media Mayhem profiling the pure evils of the Cult Church of Scientology.

Most of you I’m sure, are familiar with investigative authors and journalists,  Tony Ortega and Mark Ebner’s outspoken, in-depth and horrifying research about what goes on behind the locked doors of that big, scary, blue building in Los Angeles., the desert compound, (“WHERE IS SHELLY MISCAVIGE?“), or in Clearwater, Florida.  The latest video is completely worth your time, consideration and a real thought process about what is being ignored and swept under the rug for years.

If only Leah Remini would sit down and write a true crime story about her ordeal with COS.  I could recommend two writers who would be more than happy to assist.

Another must-watch video is former-Scientologist,  Karen de la Carriere has some amazing videos on YouTube.  We’ve got one for you…I guarantee you’ll go back for more.

Let’s go back to Shelly Miscavige for just a moment.

Leah’s public departure from the Church focused a giant spotlight on Shelly Miscavige’s disappearance. The Church of Scientology is notorious for imprisoning its own members in order to make them disappear.

Even L. Ron Hubbard’s wife Mary Sue — who co-founded the Church of Scientology with her husband — was kept as a virtual prisoner under guard in her own home during the last years of her life.

FACT: If you go to any official Church of Scientology website you will not see the name or picture of either Mary Sue Hubbard or Shelly Miscavige. These two women are among the “Disappeared Ones” in the Church of Scientology.

Despite the Church of Scientology’s attacks on former members who have weighed in on this issue, the Church has still failed to address the question: Where is Shelly Miscavige?

Shelly has not been seen in public for many years. Rumors are that her husband locked away his wife at a secret location. Allegations persist that Church leader David Miscavige is having an extramarital affair with a staff member named Laurisse Stuckenbrock.

Remember when TIME MAGAZINE called out Scientology “A Cult of Greed” and “A Scam“?? I think you really need to follow this link to further your own  investigation.  We have a short excerpt form the TIME Magazine piece:

via Richard Behar for TIME.com

“By all appearances, Noah Lottick of Kingston, Pa., had been a normal, happy 24-year-old who was looking for his place in the world. On the day last June when his parents drove to New York City to obtain his body, they were nearly catatonic with grief.

This young Russian-studies scholar had jumped from a 10th-floor window of the Milford Plaza Hotel and bounced off the hood of a stretch limousine. When the police arrived, his fingers were still clutching $171 in cash, virtually the only money he hadn’t turned over to the Church of Scientology, the self-help “philosophy” group he had discovered just seven months earlier.

His death inspired his father Edward, a physician, to start his own investigation of the church. “We thought Scientology was something like Dale Carnegie,” Lottick says. “I now believe it’s a school for psychopaths.” Their so-called therapies are manipulations. They take the best and the brightest people and destroy them.” The Lotticks want to sue the church for contributing to their son’s death, but the prospect has them frightened. For nearly 40 years, the big business of Scientology has shielded itself exquisitely behind the First Amendment as well as a battery of high-priced criminal lawyers and shady private detectives.”

I suggest you read the article in its entirety. You won’t like it, but you’ll come away from all of this information feeling more enlightened on the subject of Scientology.  In reality, I hope you’re alarmed, frightened and sickened by what these people are capable of doing.

New Opening Titles For ‘American Horror Story: Coven’

For it’s third season, ‘American Horror Story’ will be all about witches, which means the show will have a creepy new opening sequence. The music is the same, but instead ghosts and of jars of God knows what, there are voodoo dolls and hooded figures. The twitchy, black & white images are a bit David Lynch-esque, don’t you think?

Not only that, but the promo posters and trailers have been delightfully gruesome and fabulous. So much so that I might actually tune back in to the series. Returning this season are Jessica Lange, who will be playing a powerful witch named Fionna Goode this time around, Taissa FarmigaFrancis ConroyEvan PetersLily Rabe and Denis O’Hare. Joining them are Kathy BatesGabourey Sidibe, Emma Roberts and Angela Bassett as New Orleans legend Marie Laveau.

The first episode, titled ‘Bitchcraft,’ premieres Wednesday October 9th at 10 p.m. ET on FX. Will you be watching?

October’s Best Horror Offerings From Brittani ~ The Ghoul You Want (Derrrrp)

Silent Hill Toronto Locations…even THAT is creepy!

If you need help getting your horror fix this month, look no further! There are plenty of movies and marathons to keep you scared, but if you’re not into monsters and serial killers, there’s always the presidential debates.

Sinister’ starring Ethan Hawke opens this weekend and it has been getting surprisingly good reviews. The plot is familiar, the Oswald family moves into a house where a number of murders happened. Instead of leaving, dad Ellison decides to found out what happened to the slaughtered family that lived there before them. A true crime novelist, Hawke’s character can’t help himself, and digging around in the attic he finds tapes of the murders committed by an entity named Bagul, or Mr. Boogie. The movie promises lots of good scares and it’s villain is sure to haunt your nightmares.

Paranormal Activity 4′ opens October 19. There have been 4 of these movies in the past 5 years, and although I don’t get the hype around them, they have a strong following and this one leaves the possibly leaves the door open for a spin-off series. A sequel to ‘Paranormal Activity 2,’ it takes place five years after the events of that film when Katie kidnapped Hunter. They move next door to new characters Alice, her family and boyfriend Alex and then, well if you’ve seen the first three then you know happens.

Silent Hill: Revelation 3D’ opens October 26. A sequel to the creeptastic and underrated ‘Silent Hill,’ this follows Heather Mason (Adelaide Clemons) as she discovers on her 18th birthday that she isn’t who she thought she was, and seeks to find her true identity in the town of Silent Hill. Sean Bean, who might die in this one,  Radha Mitchell and Deborah Kara Unger return from the first film. Rounding out the cast are Carrie-Ann Moss who plays the leader of a cult and Kit Harrington, a man also trapped in Silent Hill’s alternate universe. (Don’t forget to check out our behind-the-scenes photos from the super-creepy Silent Hill locations–seriously, scroll down on this link!)

If you’re looking for something a little less gory, you can check out the classic ‘Frankenstein’ and ‘The Bride of Frankenstein‘ on October 24th in select theaters nationwide. The newly restored movies are introduced by TCM host Robert Osborne presenting interviews conducted at this year’s “TCM Classic Film Festival” with Boris Karloff‘s daughter Sara and Bela Lugosi, Jr.. Award winning makeup artist Rick Baker also joins the conversation to talk about how the legendary icons and the monsters they played influenced his work and the horror genre.

If you’re like me and hate leaving the house when it’s not absolutely necessary, there are plenty of new dvd releases and movies to catch on TV.

The much talked about ‘V/H/S’ got mixed reviews from critics and viewers, but you can judge the movie for yourself by catching it on Amazon Instant Video and iTunes.

American Horror Story: The Complete First Season’ is now on DVD and Blu-ray. Season 2, Titled ‘Asylum’ starts Wednesday night on FX at 10 p.m. Check out the first five NSFW minutes on the show’s official Facebook page.

Season 3 of ‘The Walking Dead’ starts Sunday night on AMC at 10 p.m. To get prepared for the season premiere, watch TWD’s  4 webisodes featuring some suspicious survivors at the show’s official site. Don’t forget that ‘The Talking Dead’ hosted by Chris Hardwicke also returns this Sunday after TWD’s premiere.

AMC also kicks off it’s annual “Fear Fest” from October 13-31. It will be hosted by Kevin Smith this year, boo, but you can expect to see all of your favorite horror villains including Michael Meyers and Jason Voorhies and many of King of Scream Stephen King‘s movies like ‘The Dead Zone‘ and “Thinner.’

SyFy‘s  “31 Days of Halloween” is already underway. The channel will be ending the month with it’s ‘Ghost Hunters’ marathon and a live edition of it’s SFX competition show ‘Face Off.’ Check here for the full schedule of movies and shows.

Chiller will be premiering new movies to the channel all month. ‘Dead Souls’ starts on Friday, and ‘Hush‘ premiers on October 19. If you’ve ever wanted to know about the lives of haunted house enthusiasts, and I ask you why, then you’ll want to check out the documentary ‘The American Scream.’ It follows the lives of people who wish that it could be Halloween all year long. The movie premiers on Sunday October 28. Take a look!

Looking for something a little more tame for kids, or the scaredy cats, there is ABC Family‘s “13 Nights of Halloween” beginning on October 19. ‘Hocus Pocus’ is always a sure thing, but the network added some newer movies to it’s annual fest with ‘Coraline’ and ‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.’ You can also expect Halloween themed episode of ‘Pretty Little Liars’ and ‘Switched At Birth.’ Check out the schedule!

The HUB network has a gem in ‘R. L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour.’ It reminds me a lot of shows I grew up with like ‘Are You Afraid of The Dark‘ and ‘Goosebumps‘ which was also based on Stine’s work. A lot of the stories are genuinely creepy and it will premiere it’s 3rd season this Saturday at 6 p.m. with a two-part episode with “bite.” Here is the preview featuring Christopher Lloyd as “Grandpire.”

We bloody LOVE this time of year at Dipped in Cream!
