I don’t watch ABC’s Scandal. I’m smack in the cross hairs of its demographic, but despite my love of KerryWashington and the first couple of seasons of Grey’s Anatomy, I’ve never clicked with the Shonda Rhimes show.
Though not a viewer, thanks to twitter I am well aware of the goings on of Olivia Pope and Co. That Gucci Coat was all that y’all had promised!
Well if the show is picked up for a third season, the writers will be some kind of busy.
Jill Kelley (whom I refuse to call a whistle-blower) has hired Smith. Venn diagrams and flow charts are necessary to adequately follow this scandal, but in essence Kelley is the Tampa woman who got the emails rolling in the Petraeus debacle.
Sidebar, as Kelley’s brother David Khawam was giving after-dark interviews in a driveway, I was reminded to be eternally grateful that I come from a long line of closed lipped types.
One of the most awkward things a child can experience is catching their parents in the middle of them possibly making a sibling. Maybe Slash didn’t experience the same shock and disgust when he saw his mother in bed with David Bowie.
During an interview with on Australian radio show Triple M, the guitarist recalled the time he caught his mother Ola Hudson and the Thin White Duke in bed together naked when he was only eight years old. Ola, who passed away in 2009, made costumes for Bowie in the mid-70s. Slash recounts,
“My mum started working with David professionally at first. I’m pretty sure that’s how it started. Then it turned into some sort of mysterious romance that went on for a while after that. She did his wardrobe for his whole Thin WhiteDuke period and The Man Who Fell To Earth movie that he did. She did all that and he was around for a while, he continues, He was always over – they were always together. I caught them naked once. They had a lot of stuff going on, but my perspective was limited. Looking back on it, I know exactly what was going on. When I look back on that whole combination of people, I can only imagine how freaky it was.”
We can only imagine how freaky that must have been, too!
We all know Mick Jagger has moves, and he had no problem putting them on a young Angelina Jolie and duet partner David Bowie. In the new book MICK: The Wild Life and Mad Genius of Jagger by Christopher Andersen, nice title, the author talks about Jagger’s obsession with Jolie after she appeared as a stripper in the Rolling Stones‘ video for “Anybody Seen My Baby” back in 1997.
At the time she was still married to actor Jonny Lee Miller and initially refused to return Mick’s calls, but that didn’t stop Jagger from “begging to see her” and being “infatuated” with someone with bigger lips than his. (The last part is just what I assume.) Who else spotted Angie’s former lover, Jenny Shimizu in the video? Hmmm?
Mick once admitted that, “She scares me a little. I like that,” and bombarded her with calls, as recounted by Jolie’s late friend Lauren Taines. “Angelina, it’s Mick. Will you please, please call me?” “Miss Jolie, why aren’t you returning my calls?” “Angelina, I have got to speak to you. Call me,” were some of the incredibly desperate message left. This behavior allegedly continued up until 1999, even when Jagger was divorcing ex-wife Jerry Hall. He even gifted Angelina a pair of $5,000 earrings. I can’t imagine Mick being that desperate, but this is Angelina Jolie we’re talking about here.
In the same book, there is a very detailed account of the relationship between Jagger and David Bowie. [Cut to DivaJulia, settling in with her arms crossed for this one…] This all started long before they danced in the street, with both said to be fascinated with each other as stars and as men. If I were David Bowie, I’d expect people to be a little obsessed with me, too. Although, Keith Richards didn’t get the hype, he was probably just jealous, Mick had a lot of admiration for Bowie and the two started hanging out publicly together.
“Bowie and Jagger were soon spotted everywhere together without their wives: sitting ringside at the Muhammad Ali-Ken Norton bout, hanging out at the London disco Tramp, yelling and stomping their approval at a Diana Ross concert, or just cuddling up together on a hotel room coach. Neither superstar complained when one enterprising photographer snapped the two men in a moment of repose, Bowie tenderly cradling Mick’s head in his lap. Bowie also took Mick to gay films. “David,” said British TV producer Kevin Kahn, “is a born proselytizer.” ”
Oh, but it gets better. In 1973, when Angela Bowie returned home from a trip, the couple’s maid approached her in the kitchen and told her that someone was in her bed. She went into the bedroom to find Mick and David in bed together, naked.
“Both men woke up with a start. “Oh, hello,” said Bowie, clearly taken by surprise. “How are you?” “I’m fine,” Angie replied. “Do you want some coffee?”
Ava Cherry, who was a backup singer for Bowie is quoted as saying the men were “sexually obsessed” with each other, and practically lived together for months. There’s also a story from Bebe Buell, the ultimate groupie, where she warned about Jagger by her then boyfriend Todd Rundgren. Eventually, Buell ended up sleeping with both Mick and David, taking phone calls from them at 3 in the morning “inviting me to join them in bed with four gorgeous black women.” Or, she added, “four gorgeous black men.”
