Samuel L. Jackson Wants You To ‘Wake The F*** Up’ And Vote

Mr. Jackson would like you to V O T E

If there is anyone that can get people to go out and rock the vote, it’s Samuel L. Jackson. In a parody of his reading of the “Go The F*** To Sleep” book for parents, Jackson appears in the home of a young girl who is worried about this year’s election. He then goes on to berate her parents, siblings and even her elderly grandparents to wake up and vote.

The video was sponsored by Jewish Council for Education and Research clearly states that it wasn’t authorized by either candidate, but it is a sort of Left leaning campaign commercial. Adam Mansbach, who wrote “Go The F*** To Sleep” also wrote the script for the ad and says:

My hopes are that the video helps … remind people of Obama’s accomplishments and the stakes of this election, and galvanize people to get out and get active.

The video is NSFW, so headphones up! If you haven’t already, and why the f*** haven’t you, you can register to vote here!

Quentin Tarantino Gets Roasted

QT with Uma and Sam
QT with former girlfriend Kathy Griffin and friend Rosario Dawson

A number of Quentin Tarantino’s friends and collaborators gathered at the Hilton Hotel ballroom in Manhattan to honor him in an event organized by The Friar’s Club. Over 2,000 guests were in attendance, a record for any of the roasts. The roast had been pushed back after the death of his close friend, Sally Menke.

Roasters included Uma Thurman, Kathy Griffin (they used to date!), Richard Belzer, Sarah Silverman and Edgar Wright. Kristin Chenoweth kicked off the event by singing the National Anthem. Samuel L. Jackson served as Roastmaster and referred to Tarantino as “a walking spaghetti western,”  but also thanked QT for casting him in Pulp Fiction.

Possibly the best story from the luncheon came from his muse, Uma Thurman:

“Throughout our long and glorious – and inglourious – relationship, we’ve had our ups and downs, but for now I’ll just focus on “Kill Bill”.  Deep in the desert, late one night around four a.m., for once my phone accidentally went off [during a take]. And Quentin screamed, as he does, ‘Whose phone is that!? Whoever’s phone that is is dead!’ And I said, from the dirt pile I was half buried under, ‘That was my phone, actually, so leave the crew alone.’  And he said ‘You let your phone go off one more time and I’ll make you regret the day you ever started acting!’ And I screamed back, ‘That happened a long time ago, motherf**ker!”

And the foot fetish is celebrated!

At the end of her speech, Thurman took off her heels, put wine in them, handed one to Tarantino and toasted with him.  Boom, roasted!
