The only thing that made this year’s Red Carpet interesting was Sacha Baron Cohen dressed as his latest character, “The Dictator,” throwing the “ashes” of his fellow ruler, the late Kim Jong Il, onto E! host Ryan Seacrest. Apparently it was really pancake mix, but it was hilarious to see Ryan try to pretend like he wasn’t butthurt while still on camera. The thought of SBC doing another silly stunt just felt old and tired, but this ended up being pretty funny. I love how concerned Jennifer Lopez was for him, or maybe she was just trying to keep herself from laughing.
There were of course some pretty dresses. No one looked terrible, which is a shame because that always makes things more fun. Goop Poop turned up in a stunner, and there were little pops of color from Penelope Cruz and last year’s Best Actress winner Natalie Portman.
Here are our picks for the BEST DRESSED of the evening!
Milla Jovovich showed up early in Elie Saab
Jessica Chastain, gorgeous in Alexander McQueen
Pharrell Williams looking incredibly dapper. He did a great job with the show’s music.
Best Supporting Actress Winner Octavia Spencer in her favorite designer Tadashi Shoji
Emma Stone in Giambattista Valli. Wasn’t she cute on stage presenting?
Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad. Her nipple has it’s own Twitter now.
George and Stacy who? Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, she wore Atelier Versace
Natalie Portman wore vintage Dior. I liked the polka dots.
Gwyneth Paltrow showed up looking like a less boobalicious Emma Frost (X-Men reference guys) in this new Tom Ford. Yes, that is a cape.
The woman who should have won Best Actress (yeah I said it) Viola Davis in emerald Vera Wang
Who did you love?
