Coming Soon: Channing Tatum in Steven Soderbergh’s ‘Side Effects’

After delighting many by quickly killing off Gwyneth Paltrow in Contagion, Steven Soderbergh is back. Side Effects has a creepy, purposefully vague trailer that left me eager to see more.

Starring the sexiest man alive Channing Tatum and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’s Rooney Mara,
the sneak peek begins with the lives of a charmed young couple. On a boat, attending lavish parties, the happiness abruptly when someone is murdered and Wifey starts downing pills by the handful.

Jude Law and Catherine Zeta Jones are either responsible for the misery or the saviors of the day.

Soderbergh‘s current wife is E News personality Jules Asner. Who knew while watching her in the 90’s that Asner would be the equivalent of Walter Cronkite when compared to Giuliana Rancic? The couple separated a couple of years ago, during which time Soderbergh fathered a child with another woman…which is relevant to absolutely nothing, which is what make me a gossip-monger to the nth power!

Side Effects will be released February 8, 2013.

Creepy-Beautiful Photos of Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig for Empire Magazine – ‘Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’

EMPIRE Magazine, November 2011

Yep. These are completely gratuitous sexy-dark pictures for a certain sector of my readers–and you all know who you are. For some reason (heh), we like seeing Daniel Craig strapped to a chair, all bad ass, yet a little vulnerable–but mostly bad ass and laughing and taunting his abuser in The Chair/Torture Scene from “Casino RoyaleRemember that? Yeah. I thought so.

Well, hello there, Mr. Craig...

ANYhot.  Empire Magazine‘s November Issue  has some really scary-gorgeous photos of Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara.  Take a gander!

Rooney Mara as Lisbeth

I’m seriously looking forward to seeing The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, as I’ve mentioned a million times.

Daniel and Rooney...Sharing a Smoke

My husband is engrossed in reading the books, and is just as anxious to see David Fincher’s take on the Swedish book written by the late Stieg Larsson.  Clearly though, I can’t be bothered with reading…although I did  manage to get through the (disappointing) Swedish version of the film–subtitles and all.

LOVE. THESE. PHOTOS. ~ Signed, The Pretentious Illiterate

(What would I have done without the brilliance of Zach Galifianakis–because I will beat this dead horse forever.)

‘Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’ Official Trailer

Counting. The. DAYS.

Okay. Y’all ready for this? Fincher. Mara. Craig. Sands. Plummer, and REZNOR??

However, this trailer still gives me chills…in the best way possibly.

And yes, to all of the snoots out there, I’ve seen the Swedish version of “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”. If you haven’t noticed, I am fully capable of READING SUB-TITLES, so just don’t EVEN.  Simply because a film is originally foreign-made, does not necessarily make it better.

The Swedish film was not nearly violent enough–particularly during Lisbeth’s “revenge” scene. It fell flat, in my opinion.  I’m counting on my beloved David Fincher to satisfy my lust for woman on man violent payback in spades.  I need more lengthy and extreme close-ups of Lisbeth with her tattoo gun, and other weapons of choice. The Swedish version of this particular scene was a complete mediocre let-down. Unsatisfying.  Am I coming in clear?

I’m counting on an  Oscar sweep. Ya hear me talkin’ to ya,  Academy Members? I do not like being let down.
