Can You Believe Keanu Reeves Is Almost 50?

Nu-Nu!

While the internet is convinced that Keanu Reeves is some magical, age defying Prince, he’s actually a couple of years away from the big 5-0 and is venturing into directing. He talks to GQ about his documentary ‘Side by Side‘ and the next ‘Bill & Ted’ movie.

About interviewing great directors like Martin Scorsese and David Fincher for his latest project on digital film-making:

GQ: Why did you think the change in film technology was an important enough subject to make a documentary about?
Keanu Reeves:
Well, I love cinema, and I thought that this was a pretty big deal. This moment in time when over a hundred years of photochemical filmmaking is going to be phased out. I wanted to look at that.

GQ: Were you nervous to speak with any of these directors?
Keanu Reeves:
When we went to go meet George Lucas, that was something. And Martin Scorsese. I mean, I’m sure you feel this once in a while—you know: “I don’t want to be an a**hole.” You’re going to go and talk to George Lucas: Get your s*** together!

On how he feels about turning 50 and playing an older Ted “Theodore” Logan:

GQ: People may be unable to believe that you are approaching 50. Do you feel the same?
Keanu Reeves:
Absolutely not. My knees are well aware of it. Mortality is very different when you’re 20 to when you’re 50.

GQ: Is it easy to imagine those characters middle-aged?
Keanu Reeves:
I don’t know. It’s one thing to think about it, but to perform it… One of the plot points is that these two people have been crushed by the responsibility of having to write the greatest song ever written and to change the world. And they haven’t done it. So everybody is kind of like: “Where is the song?” The guys have just drifted off into esoterica and lost their rock. And we go on this expedition, go into the future to find out if we wrote the song, and one future “us” refuses to tell us, and another future “us” blames us for their lives because we didn’t write the song, so they’re living this terrible life. In one version we’re in jail; in another we’re at some kind of highway motel and they hate us.

Well, I’m excited about the next ‘Bill & Ted’ and hopefully Nu Nu is happy approaching 50, or whatever age he is.

Amy Winehouse and Blaaaake Reuniting…Again?

The Happy Couple

Here’s the thing:  If these two weren’t such a GOTdamn trainwreck, this picture would be really sweet.  Don’t just blow it off as Blaaaaake and Amy for a second.  Look how charming this couple is–tender, yet badass.  Pretend you don’t recognize who they are…push aside the heroin, the crack smoking, dirty fingernails and ballet slippers,  and lots of jailtime.

I know.  It’s hard. Impossible, even.

Last week, Blake spoke for the first time, revealing that they’re planning to remarry, despite divorcing last year.

He [Blake] told the magazine [Heat]: ‘Amy’s wearing the Tiffany ring I bought for her three years ago again.

‘We’ve been meeting up and talking about the old times. We talk about going away somewhere and getting married.

‘Amy is always the first person I call if I have anything worrying me or that I want to share with someone. We speak on the phone at least three times every day.’

Oh, boy.  Here we go.  I’ve seen first-hand what co-dependent addicts can do to each other as a couple, and it’s hell on earth if you’re involved with them as family members.

God help everyone close them.
