Do you get goosebumps when you hear music that is beyond thrilling? I do, and let me tell you–I had goosebumps all the way up to my hair last night after watching Seattle’s own HEART (Ann and Nancy Wilson) brrrrrinnnng it hard with “Kick It Out” on The Late Show With David Letterman.
Watch it til the very end…after Ann and Nancy kick everyone’s ass into orbit, Dave Letterman damn-near loses his mind. It’s awesome.
If you aren’t aware by now, Foo Fighters are Dave’s guest band every single night this week, and Dave Grohl’s HBO mini-series“Sonic Highways”is premiering Friday, October 17. DVR the crap outta this thing–here’s the trailer!
First things first: I’ve never been a huge Beach Boys fan…like, at ALL. I own it and admit it. Full disclosure. Having said that, ‘God Only Knows’ is a lovely song–especially here with this amazing celebratory adaptation for the BBC Music Launch by a gazillion flawless artists, along with Brian Wilson himself.
Take a moment and watch and turn it up to 11. (Is that still a thing?) Anyway…
For more in-depth info, please check out the article on BBC Music. It’s really fantastic.
Yep. We sat through the entire awards show, but that ain’t no big thang. We always do, because it’s like my job or something. That sure doesn’t mean I don’t have biases or favorites, right? I wouldn’t be the opinionated human sack of gossip you’ve grown to barely toleratelove. Right? RIGHT???
So…here are the winners, and I don’t have too many complaints aside from Pitbull trying his hand at a hosting gig and the Best New Artist…which clearly should have been awarded to our town’s Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, forpitysake. YOU know it and I know it; so let’s just move along.

And one more time:
Overall, the shows was okay. I really was hoping for some wins for Bruno Mars, which would’ve given us a hot performance, but alas–Timberlake won those awards. I did notice the not-too-subtle public shaming of Robin Thicke. Hmmmmm…Not all the surprising.
Even Miley was decent; although her staging was, well–odd?
WTAF? Oh. Right. “She’s just bein’ Maaaahleee, y’all.”
One more thing: How great did Joan Jett and Dave Grohl look? LOVE THEM!
Overall, what did alla ya’ll think? Anyone with me on the Bruno Mars sitch? Did ABC think they’d get more viewers/higher ratings with Timberlake winning performing? Just as simple questions; don’t LEAP all over me.
