Adele To Perform For James Bond Oscar Tribute?

Rumour Has It.  (See what I did there?)  Right.   Anyway, a rumour is indeed being tossed round that Queen Adele herself  will perform “Skyfall” during a shrouded in secrecy tribute to Mr. James Bond’s 50th year on the silver screen.

I’ll take it once step further:  I think it’s entirely plausible that the theme from “Skyfall” will be nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song.

There. I said it…with a proper English accent, as well.

‘Hitchcock’ Movie Trailer And Poster

You’ll be getting twice the Alfred Hitchcock fix this year. HBO has it’s movie ‘The Girl‘ premiering later this month, and now we have a look at ‘Hitchcock,’ another biopic starring Anthony Hopkins as the auteur.

ScarJo as Janet Leigh

Hopkins bares an uncanny resemblance to Hitchcock with the help of some well done prosthetics. The movie also stars Scarlett Johansson as Janet Leigh, the star of ‘Psycho‘ and she seems to do the infamous shower scene justice. Toni Collette plays Hitchcock’s assistant and the always amazing Helen Mirren plays his wife, Alma Reville.

Both movies explore his relationships with his leading ladies, some of whom he was obsessed with, and points to the director being something of a sexual deviant. ‘Hitchcock‘ has the bigger cast and is already getting Oscar buzz, but I can’t wait to see and compare both.

Hitchcock’ will be in theaters November 23rd.

‘Flight’ Official Trailer – Denzel Washington, John Goodman and The Rolling Stones’ ‘Gimme Shelter’ — Always A Great Combo

It’s official.  Any movie trailer that uses the Rolling Stones eerie classic ‘Gimme Shelter‘ ALWAYS piques my interest.

Here we have another example with the trailer for the new film Flight, starring Denzel Washington, John Goodman and Don Cheadle.  We also have director Robert Zemeckis who directed the Oscar-winning Forest Gump and Castaway. A quick synopsis barely does the trailer justice: An airline pilot saves a flight from crashing, but an investigation into the malfunctions reveals something troubling.

There is an awful lot of Oscar-buzz about Flight already, particularly targeting Denzel.  I wouldn’t be surprised if there are more than just one nomination for this film.  The entire production and cast look superb.

Yes. I want to see this film.  Flight opens November 2, 2012.
