Nick Cannon has confirmed that he and his wife, singer Mariah Carey, are DEFINITELY separated and have been for months. He’s revealed that the two are no longer living together and has been quoted by Yahoo’s The Insider as saying “There is trouble in paradise.” Is divorce in the cards? I’m gonna go with “likely” because, if living apart hasn’t helped their 8 yr. marriage enough to keep quiet on the situation, that must mean they’re heading towards the next step. The one involving lawyers.
Nick denies any cheating rumors on either party’s part though there’s been no statement yet from Mariah’s camp. Should said divorce actually happen, let’s hope it’s fairly cheap by Hollywood’s standards; neither Nick nor Mariah have had positive upswings in their careers of late.
I’ve always thought Mariah Carey, at the least the Mimi we all know and love today, was a bit ridiculous. But, in a really fun way. That’s why I choose to think the new title of her much-delayed new album is a big joke, and not a sign that Mrs. Cannon has been sipping on too much champagne.
Originally titled ‘The Art of Letting Go,’ Carey revealed to Billboard that the new title is ‘Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse.’ If your reaction was the same as mine, then it was a big “HUH?” At least it’s not “Cotton Candy,” or “Charmbracelet 2: He Went To Jared!” It does seems awfully similar to the the name of Beyonce‘s third studio album, ‘I Am… Sasha Fierce,’ released in 2008. Carey actually told Billboard in her recent cover story that she was going to take another cue from Bey by doing a surprise digital release, but thought it would be better if she announced details about it herself. Knowing that we would all think she had finally lost it, Mimi explains in a video that the inspiration for the name of the album came from a self portrait she drew when she three and half years old.

Made ya look! Sometimes things just make me laugh–like this photo of our precious Eddie Vedder doing what we call “Diva hands’. Seriously. I nearly tinkled a little.
I think Ed’s technique is EVERY bit as fierce as Christina’s, RiRi’s and Lady Gaga’s. And frankly, he’s more committed to the move than Mariah–but she’s allowed to be a bit lazy after all these years, right?
