The second single from Nine Inch Nails‘ upcoming album hit the web pretty late Sunday night, making my Monday morning a bit more enjoyable. El Rez and the gang have used “Copy Of A” to open their sets at recent festivals like Lollapalooza, so it’s nice to finally hear the studio version. I find it a bit more accessible than “Came Back Haunted” and it gives up a taste of what we can expect from ‘Hesitation Marks.’
NIN played an amazing set at the Outside Lands Festival over the weekend where they played “Copy Of A” and another two other one songs, “Find My Way” and “Disappointed.”You can watch the whole set here if you weren’t lucky enough to be there or didn’t catch the live stream. The band will be playing the Pukkelpop festival in Hasselt, Germany on the 15 and have added an “intimate” gig at London’s Scala on August 20 where they will be for the Reading and Leeds festivals on August 23 and 25. It’s so exciting to see, and hear, them playing live again.
‘Hesitation Marks’ will be out on September 3 and you know we can’t wait to hear it!
It’s festival season, which means ugly cut off shorts and bands you forgot existed getting back together. The mother of all music festivals, Lollapalooza, released it’s official lineup, after a leak that proved to be true.
With 130 acts, including the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Queens of The Stone Age and current Hip-Hop Prince Kendrick Lamar with take up residence in Chicago’s Grant Park from August 2-4. Also included in the lineup are Phoenix, Vampire Weekend and The Killers.
I love that Lolla released a video instead of their usual poster, but you can check that out too at the festivals OFFICIAL site.
The three day passes are already sold out, naturally, but you can still buy single day passes which will go on sale on April 3 at 10 a.m.
Also, if you wanna take a hilarious stroll down Memory Lane–here’s a “review” (ahem) from 2010’s Lollapalooza by Rebecca entitled: My So-Called-apalooza. This. Is. Priceless.
Lollapalooza will be celebrating it’s 20th Anniversary this year with a huge lineup that includes Foo Fighters, Eminem and Coldplay as headliners. The festival will be held in Chicago’s Grant Park from August 5-7. The folks over at RollingStone.com were the first to spill the beans.
Other performers include A Perfect Circle, Cold War Kids, My Morning Jacket, Deadmau5, Muse, Cee Lo, Green Day, Arctic Monkeys, Damien “Jr. Gong” Marley and Nas, Deftones, Lykke Li, Sleigh Bells, Patrick Stump and the newly reunited Death From Above 1979. You can see the full lineup of artists here http://www.lollapalooza.com/
Three-day festival passes are on sale now for $215 which can be bought at the site. If you have deep pockets you can get VIP passes for $800.
Lollapalooza has a long history of great performers, from Nine Inch Nails at the first one back in 1991, to Lady Gaga stage diving last year. She also had one of her first big performances at Lolla in 2007.
