Kelly Clarkson Tweets Her Support of Presidential Candidate Ron Paul

Singer Kelly Clarkson caused a bit of a ruckus when she tweeted her support of Presidential candidate Ron Paul. Other tweeters quickly tried to help her correct her probable mistake by explaining that Paul and his campaign are surrounded by claims of homophobia and racism. Kelly didn’t quite seem to get it.

After being bombarded with comments from fans, Kelly released a statement via her Who Say website:

I am really sorry if I have offended anyone. Obviously that was not my intent. I do not support racism. I support gay rights, straight rights, women’s rights, men’s rights, white/black/purple/orange rights. I like Ron Paul because he believes in less government and letting the people (all of us) make the decisions and mold our country. That is all. Out of all of the Republican nominees, he’s my favorite.

I’m actually a little taken aback by her claims that she has never heard him say anything homophobic or racist. You support this guy but don’t know that he used to run a newsletter in the 90s that routinely featured articles about how “the white man should be afraid of the black man“.

I wonder how a conversation between Jennifer, Kelly and Mary J. would end up...just curious.

Oh, and let’s not forget how Ron Paul very publicly exclaimed that he would not have voted for the 1964 Civil Rights Act. I don’t care that Kelly is a Republican, I really don’t, but if you’re going to support any one of the candidates running for the Republican ticket, for Pete’s sake, don’t make it Ron F***ing Paul!

Guess who’s judging a couple of folks up in here?

You BEST BELIEVE Snippy the Giraffe is judging you, Kelly. And Ron Paul.

Okay, then.
