Awards season kicks off with the nominations for the 2014 Independent Spirit Awards. Some heavy contenders for other awards, most notably the Oscars, got a number of nods, including ‘12 Years A Slave’ and ‘Nebraska’. While the Golden Globes have always been seen as the precursor to the big one, i’m sure we’ll be hearing a lot about these indie films in the next couple of months.
