Javier Colon BEFORE “The Voice” (I’m freaking out!)

No. Way.

I found an old mix cd from 2007 with an amazing song called “Crazy” from 2007 that I just adore.  For the ever-lovin’ LIFE of me, I couldn’t remember who it was. Maxwell? Robin Thicke? Nope. After a little bit of research, I found out who and WHY I love this song so much.

Take a listen…

I know, right?? It’s JavierJAVIER COLON, who used to have a record contract several years ago, and is now competing on “The Voice“.  No bloody wonder I loved him so much last week!!

So yeah, I’m flipping right OUT.  Are you??

Stay tuned HERE for Brittani’s recap from tonight’s show!! Squeeeeee!

Trent Reznor to release Nine Inch Nails “Pretty Hate Machine” REMASTERED – November 22, 2010

Pretty Hate Machine - NIN, Originally released in 1989

This. Is. EPIC.  No, really.  Totally massive and tremendous.  Am I coming in clear?  Pretty Hate Machine is in my Top 5  all-time favorite albums.  I can listen to each and every song–while screaming singing along with Trent, risking blowing out my sub-woofer in the car–over and over.  Each song is my favorite, for different moods and levels of aggression.

If you are unfamiliar with the classic of all classic albums we are through! I suggest you get ON this.  I DARE you to listen to this masterpiece and tell me it sounds like it’s 21 years old.  It could have literally been released last f*cking week.  Trent was ALWAYS ahead of the curve and no one has caught up with him since; they’ve swerved, crashed into the wall of oblivion and burned.  (Stabbing Westward? Stupid Marilyn Absynthe-Bloat Manson? Yeah.  No, thanks.)

That’s right.  Pretty Hate Machine was released the year I gave birth to my son, Hunter…who I did indeed take to see Nine Inch Nails–twice.  Did your mom do that for you? I didn’t think so.

Trent Reznor took to nin.com to make his announcement today:

“I’m happy to finally announce the re-issue of the first Nine Inch Nails record “Pretty Hate Machine,” releasing worldwide 11/22. UMe and Bicycle Music Group managed to locate the original mixes, so I went in the studio with Tom Baker and remastered it for a grealy improved sonic experience. In addition, Rob reinterpreted Gary Talpas’ original cover to make for a fresh new package.

It’s been an interesting trip watching the fate of this record float from one set of hands to another (a long and depressing story) but it’s finally wound up in friendly territory, allowing us to polish it up a bit and present it to you now. We had fun revisiting this old friend, hope you enjoy.

Trent mutha-f*ckin' Reznor - NIN circa 1989

I wonder if all of you can hear me swooning and screaming?  Ho. Lee. Shit.  Is it November 22nd yet??  Seriously.  You guys DON’T EVEN KNOW.  (Brittani does, though.)

Lollapalooza 2010 Line-up – Grant Park, Chicago!

I have a few friends in the Chicago area, and I tell ya what–they had BETTER be going to the 2010 Lollapalooza Festival in Grant Park this summer.  I went with Hunter when the festival came to Seattle a couple of years ago and had the best time.  But this year’s line-up?? Holy Lord, it’s awesome.  Take a gander, won’t you?

I freakin' LOVE this picture. "The 12 year break is over & school is back in session. Sign up now. Knights of the Soundtable ride again!' - Chris Cornell

Hell, yeah.

Perry Farrell and the organizers of Lollapalooza have revealed the full list of artists scheduled to appear at the 2010 festival, which will take place August 6-8th at Chicago’s Grant Park. This year boasts the Illinois fest’s most eclectic and bold-faced-named slate of headliners yet: the reunited Soundgarden, Lady Gaga, Green Day, the Strokes, Arcade Fire and Phoenix. MGMT, Erykah Badu, Spoon and the Black Keys are also among the 130 bands on the bill.

The biggest catch — and in Farrell’s opinion, the toughest catch — was Lady Gaga, who will present her Monster Ball in front of its biggest audience yet.

“Lady Gaga represents to me the music industry today. She’s a good representation of where it’s at and where everybody’s trying to get to. If you look at the Grammys, it looked like everybody was trying to catch up to Lady Gaga,” Farrell tells RS. “We just see the vision of Lady Gaga in Chicago in Grant Park surrounded by all those beautiful buildings — we all just thought that it would be an epic performance.”
