Courtney Love, everyone’s nightmare wife, is turning 50 today, the same day I hear the news that Ryan Gosling, everyone’s perfect boyfriend*, will have a child with Eva Mendes. How God could fill my head with so much conflicting news in one day… Courtney, still thinking she can reclaim her title of Rock Queen/Queen Bitch, perennially down for the count, downed by drugs, drowned by alcohol, downed by narcissism and madness- forced to watch stupider, more reasonable women take the crown she wore on “Live Through This”.
Every year a rumored triumphant return, every year a let down. Meanwhile Ryan has found a women worthy of love and impregnation, a woman who will not be smoking, shooting up, and giving foul mouthed interviews to Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair while she has a child In Utero. No, an actress of some talent, Eva will be looking more and more like a blow-upSophia Lorenuntil her waist disappears and she has to wear sensible flats while Ryan adorably accompanies her to Lamaze class.
As a former punk fighting to age without displaying too much dignity, I root for Courtney every time she dusts herself off. As a proud grandmother, myself, I am happy there will be one more Love child and one less Son of Anarchy.
Now all the women sing along with us! One more…
And how ’bout an round of applause for our Gorgeous Mary…over there. Behind the David Lynchian red velvet curtain.
This former A list tweener is still snorting away every chance he gets so I don’t know if this rehab thing actually stuck. Don’t believe the hype about the new girlfriend because she too has connections to the money man.
Hold on to your hats, because here’s where I become a total hypocrite. I have four tattoos. My sons have tattoos; my SilverFox husband has tattoos; even my MOM has one tattoo. So why am I so wigged out over little Demi Lovato’s new tattoo? Probably because I see myself as some sort of pseudo-psychologist, or maybe I’ve been there myself? Just bear with me.
Demi had some pretty “birdies” (as she calls them) tattooed near the word “faith” on her forearm. The ink was done by L.A. Ink reality star, Kat von D over the holiday weekend.
Demi Lovato has dedicated the majority of her potential wrist tattoo space to her fans, having had a “Stay Strong” tattoo with a heart inked on her wrists in March 2011. While Demi Lovato’s stay strong tattoo may seem like a reminder to herself alone, the mantra is something that was actually repeated by fans of the teen star throughout her stay in rehab, and Demi found the tattoo tribute a fitting “thank you.”
Plus, Demi Lovato’s stay strong tattoo effectively covers up some of the scars on her wrists from wounds that she inflicted on herself during years of cutting. “It was very symbolic for me to be able to cover that up and also replace it with something else that’s permanent,” Demi said of her stay strong tattoo, “so that I’ll never be able to forget the support that I had when I went in [to treatment].”
Here we have a very troubled girl. Demi’s very public struggle with substance abuse, cutting, assault (remember that dancer chick she decked?) and horrible choices in men. (I’m talking about YOU Wilmer, you creep.)
Demi’stattoos whisper ‘help’ , the way I see it. All of her supposed “positive thinking” and mantras, inked permanently on her skin, so she doesn’t have to do the talking herself. Her tattoos are indeed beautiful; heartbreakingly so.
