Do you get goosebumps when you hear music that is beyond thrilling? I do, and let me tell you–I had goosebumps all the way up to my hair last night after watching Seattle’s own HEART (Ann and Nancy Wilson) brrrrrinnnng it hard with “Kick It Out” on The Late Show With David Letterman.
Watch it til the very end…after Ann and Nancy kick everyone’s ass into orbit, Dave Letterman damn-near loses his mind. It’s awesome.
If you aren’t aware by now, Foo Fighters are Dave’s guest band every single night this week, and Dave Grohl’s HBO mini-series“Sonic Highways”is premiering Friday, October 17. DVR the crap outta this thing–here’s the trailer!
The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame are adding a a couple of more deserving artists to it’s historic museum.
“We are thrilled to announce this year’s class of inductees, which again represents the broad, compelling and significant definition of rock and roll,”Joel Peresman, president and chief executive of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, said in a statement Tuesday.
The late Donna Summer is on the list, along withHeart, Randy Newman and Public Enemy. Certainly an eclectic mix of artists. Rushfans can finally stop complaining that the band is long overdue for the honor, they were the top vote getter in a move that allowed the public to weigh in on who should be inducted. Also being honored are Albert King, legendary producer Quincy Jones who will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award and veteran record executive Lou Adler. Some amazing acts that made the final ballot but didn’t make the cut are N.W.A., Chic, Kraftwerk and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.
The induction ceremony will take place at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre on April 18, 2013, a special will air on HBO in May.
Let’s hear it for Seattle’s own HEART, y’all! ~ DivaJulia
