Halle Berry’s custody battle with her ex Gabriel Aubry is getting worse, and way too public. Both parties are going back and forth claiming neglect and even use of racial slurs. Berry’s latest claims are that their daughter Nahla is “terrified” of Aubry and Halle suspects something bad is happening when Aubry has care of the child. Another source claims that Aubry called her the “N” word and would routinely demean her with vulgar text messages.
“While Gabriel is disappointed in Halle’s decision to falsely malign him publicly and for her own purposes, he refuses to be pulled into her dispute over a canceled film production,” a rep for the model, 34, said Tuesday in a statement to Access Hollywood.
On Monday, Berry’s rep issued a statement to PEOPLE, stating that the Oscar winner, 44, had dropped out of her New Year’s Eve film to focus on “custody issues” related to Nahla. “Halle has serious concerns for her daughter’s well-being while in the care of her father for any extended period of time and is prepared to take all necessary steps to protect her,” the actress’s statement said.
The couple split in April of last year, and things appeared to be fine until Gabriel filed for joint custody of their daughter last month. I guess being seen out and about with Kim Kardashian didn’t help matters either. Halle is currently dating actor Oliver Martinez, and I have a feeling Gabriel probably isn’t cool with him being around his daughter either.
This who mess is just going to get nastier, and I hope they both realize they need to shut up and keep this all out of the press for the sake of their child.
