Well, duh. We could’ve told you that, Elisabeth. “Mad Men” star, Elisabeth Moss (who plays Peggy) chatted with the folks at Page Six Magazine, and revealed quite a few interesting tidbits about her life. The usually quiet and private actress opened up a bit about her short-lived 11-month marriage to SNL and Portlandia star Fred Armisen. Turns out he’s a nut. Allegedly.
via Page Six Magazine:
“It’s so hard to talk about,” she says, growing quiet.
“One of the greatest things I heard someone say about him is, ‘He’s so great at doing impersonations. But the greatest impersonation he does is that of a normal person.’ To me, that sums it up.”
She leans forward, chin in hands and brow furrowed, as she confides all this in a low, measured near-whisper.
“And I think that’s…that’s it,” she says, releasing a drawn-out giggle-sigh. “I’ve never told anyone that. And I don’t want to waste any more of my life talking about it.
So does she keep in touch with Armisen?
“Oh, God, no,” she answers quickly.”
Elisabeth also mentions in the article that she’d far rather have her role as dumpy-smart Peggy in the hit series Mad Men, than that of a vapid, sexy, dull and beautiful role like those of January Jones (the ice queen, Betty) or the buxom Christina Hendricks who plays well, buxom Joan.
“I would much rather have an interesting character to play,” she says. “I didn’t get into the business to be a model. I can get dressed up and wear something sexy any night of the week.”
And so Elisabeth shows us all that she, herself is quite sexy, even in Peggy, well, isn’t.
