Best Moments From The 2013 Tony Awards; Full List Of Winners

The 67th Annual Tony Awards aired live on CBS with Neil Patrick Harris taking his fourth turn as host. He opened the show by appearing in the pub scene from ‘Once,’ then going into a medley of hits from the best shows on Broadway.

Harris joined Andrew RannellsMegan Hilty and Laura Benanti to sing about the woes of being a Broadway star with a cancelled TV show.

There were a number of big performances, the best of which came from top trophy winners ‘Kinky Boots’ and ‘Pippin.’ One of the best additions of this year’s show was having cast members of older shows introduce the performances.

So we got a gang of Spider-menSimba and his crew, and the kids from ‘Newsies’ introducing the musical numbers, it was pretty cool.

Cyndi Lauper, who won the award for ‘Best Score,’ was on hand for the In Memoriam singing her hit “True Colors.”

The always lovely Cicely Tyson won for ‘Best Leading Actress’ and gave a heartfelt speech that was threatened with being cut short, but she wrapped it up in an incredibly gracious way.

The night ended with NPH doing a Broadway version of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys‘ ‘Empire State of Mind’ with Audra McDonald. I’m never really here for Neil, but the ending with that epic mic drop was awesome.
