Who Went Home On The Voice?

The Voice‘ seems to be in a rush to get rid of its singers. Instead of just one contestant getting the boot, two were sent home on Tuesday night’s results show. It speeds up the process but with the vote now solely in America’s hands I can’t count on people to vote for the best singers. At least we got the Presidential election right.

Christina Aguilera opened the show with a performance of the next single off her new album, “Make The World Move.” Cee Lo hit the stage with her, where she was dressed like Marie Antoinette, but as Adam Levine tweeted, Cee was giving “serious Gandolf vibes.” Blake Shelton‘s buddy Jason Aldean also performed, and reminded us of a time when Blake wasn’t so GQ. Just google “Blake Shelton Long Hair” and you’ll see. Blake and his team later did a pretty rockin’ version of “Life Is A Highway,” which was much more toned down than Cee Lo and his team’s group performance of “Stayin’ Alive.” It was fun, but why did they give that horrible afro wig to Trevin Hunte?

The results came in by teams, with Bryan KeithSylvia YacoubNicholas David, Dez Duron and Amanda Brown getting the most votes. Surprisingly, everyone from Team Adam and Team Cee Lo went through, Christina and Blake would each be losing a team member. It comes down to Michaela PaigeMelanie MartinezCody Belew and Adriana Louise. Now I really like Cody but of the four, he and Adriana are lucky to have made it this far. He gets the word that he made it through to the next round, after he made an unnecessary joke at Xtina’s expense. She hugs him anyways, and then we find out that Melanie is also safe. Adriana was done in by a sub par performance, but Michaela gave a good one and I’m sorry to see her go.

Do you agree with the results, who do you think should have been sent home instead?

Tracy Morgan Apologizes for his Homophobic Stand-Up Routine

In “UGH” of the day, Tracy Morgan attempts to apologize for a homphobic rant that occurred during a show in Nashville, Tennessee. The media first caught wind of this when an audience member, Kevin Rogers, shared his account on what happened with Truth Wins Out.

He (Morgan) mentioned that gay was something kids learn from the media and programming, and that bullied kids should just bust some ass and beat those other little f***ers that bully them, not whine about it. He said if his son that was gay he better come home and talk to him like a man and not [he mimicked a gay, high pitched voice] or he would pull out a knife and stab that little N (one word I refuse to use) to death. He mentioned that Barack Obama needed to man up and quit being all down with this just because he has a wife and two daughters. All of this being followed by thunderous cheer and “You go Tracy’s!”. Tracy then said he didn’t f***ing care if he pissed off some gays, because if they can take a f***ing dick up their ass… they can take a f***ing joke.”

Rogers also spoke with Entertainment Weekly, “I can take a joke, but I absolutely did not expect a rant like this in the middle of a comedy act,” he said via phone. At first Tracy’s publicist Nicole Charbot issued a statement that there was “no comment” but both have changed their tune now that the story is being published all over the internet. The ‘30 Rock‘ actor issued a statement:

“I want to apologize to my fans and the gay & lesbian community for my choice of words at my recent stand-up act in Nashville. I’m not a hateful person and don’t condone any kind of violence against others,” Morgan said in a statement.

“While I am an equal opportunity jokester, and my friends know what is in my heart, even in a comedy club this clearly went too far and was not funny in any context.”

Just, ugh. I hate this. I hate people that want to spew hate under the guise of being funny or just “telling jokes”.  A lot of people have showed concern for his son;  how could you be a parent that says something like that about their child, even if it is just a “joke.” I doubt that he is really sorry, and there was obvious pressure from GLAAD who asked that his management “investigate these allegations and should they prove true, we call on him to remove these violently anti-gay remarks from his show and send a strong message that anti-gay violence is not something to joke about.”

I can’t say I’m surprised by what Morgan said.   He’s known for being out there with his comedy but this wasn’t comedy, it was pure stupidity and homophobia.

NBC and Tina Fey had this to say about Morgan’s rant:

via Hollywood Reporter via MSN.com

NBC and “30 Rock” creator/star Tina Fey have issued apologies for Tracy Morgan’s homophobic one-liner at a Nashville show earlier this month.

Network entertainment chief Robert Greenblatt said, “We will always recognize an artist’s freedom to express him or herself, but not when reckless things are said no matter what the context. Unfortunately, Tracy’s comments reflect negatively on both ’30 Rock’ and NBC — two very all-inclusive and diverse organizations — and we have made it clear to him that this kind of behavior will not be tolerated.

Fey also said she was happy that the comedian apologized, adding,

“Stand-up comics may have the right to ‘work out’ their material in its ugliest and rawest form in front of an audience, but the violent imagery of Tracy’s rant was disturbing to me at a time when homophobic hate crimes continue to be a life-threatening issue for the GLBT Community. It also doesn’t line up with the Tracy Morgan I know, who is not a hateful man and is generally much too sleepy and self-centered to ever hurt another person.

I hope for his sake that Tracy’s apology will be accepted as sincere by his gay and lesbian coworkers at ’30 Rock,’ without whom Tracy would not have lines to say, clothes to wear, sets to stand on, scene partners to act with, or a printed-out paycheck from accounting to put in his pocket.”

His co-star Alec Baldwin only had this to say:

We here at Dipped in Cream are appalled that Tracy Morgan’s co-stars would both apologize for his behavior and joke about it.  Really, Tina?  Seriously, Alec?

Kanye’s Stupid Abortion Tweet

There has been almost too much talk about abortion lately, it’s making me sort of sad to be a woman. I don’t follow Kanye on Twitter, I have people that do that for me, but when I saw people talking about another stupid thing he had said I didn’t expect it to be this bad.  A recent Tweet of his sparked more controversy for him when he talked about abortion after his ex-girlfriend Amber Rose tweeted a picture of her with her new boyfriend.

And, I’m done.  I’m sorry Kanye, I can’t do this anymore. It’s not me, it’s you!  Even James Franco doesn’t troll this much.  Seriously, WTF!?  All of this crap,  plus hanging out with Abortion Rights Specialist Justin Bieber and human blow-up doll, Kim Kardashian, I think you might be losing it again.

Planned Parenthood is on the verge of losing funding. Racist anti-abortion billboards targeting black women, during effing Black History Month are going up all around the country.  Now isn’t the time for your f*ckery.  I do get what you are trying to say, so why not just say that?! We all know you’re  really just talking about your bald headed ex.  Oh, but you just released a shitty video– great way to get people talking about something else.

How could you be so Heartless?

Sorry, I had to.
