The 2012 Billboard Awards, Full List Of Winners and Whitney Tribute

The Billboard Awards happened and for three hours nothing really happened. I’ll spare you a rant on the state of music today because whether we like it or not, LMFAO exist and we only have Berry Gordy to blame.

The group along with Adele, who was not there because he had better things to do I’m sure, took home top honors. Trophies also went to Coldplay, Lil Wayne and Lady Gaga. Once again, Taylor Swift put on her best fake shocked face as she received the award for “Woman Of The Year,” an award she knew she was getting. It was presented to her by Zooey Deschanel who didn’t ask the audience if it was raining. Hosted by Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen of Modern Family, not even halfway through the show I wondered why Billboard didn’t just leave well enough alone and let this show stay dead.

There were many performances, some good like Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson and Goodie Mob featuring a performer from Cirque Du Soleil‘s Michael Jackson The IMMORTAL World Tour show. Then there were the bad including Swift 2.0 Carly Rae Jepsen, The Wanted and Usher.

These douches.

Bruh, until you can perform to the best of your ability, whatever that is now, I need you to just sit down somewhere and leave it to the kids, like Justin Bieber.

The ever-UN-original Katy Perry

Then Katy Perry ripped off both Pink and the Smashing Pumpkins with her performance of her new single “Wide Awake.” How many effing songs does she have? I also don’t know what Stevie Wonder was dong by having Alicia Keys sing “New York” acapella.

There were a couple of quick tributes to Robin Gibb, Donna Summer and Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys, but of course everyone was looking forward to the tribute to Whitney Houston.

Whoopi Goldberg introduced John Legend and Jordin Sparks who paid tribute to the late songstress with her songs “The Greatest Love Of All‘ and “I Will Always Love You.” The latter has been included in every tribute since she died and I was hoping for something else, but Jordin did a pretty good job with it.

Bobbi Kristina

Whitney’s daughter Bobbi Kristina and sister-in-law Pat Houston accepted the “Millennium Award” on her behalf.

Lest we forget to mention, Miley Cyrus wore a white tuxedo.  Minus the pants and shirt. But she did wear what looked to be a boob chain of sorts.

The thing is, Miley actually looks pretty hot…for a 19 year old going on 35, don’t you think?

Whitney Houston – Will Leaves Everything to Bobbi Kristina

Whitney and "Krissy"

Why are people shocked and even outraged by the announcement that Whitney Houston’s Last Will and Testament leaves all of her assets to her daughter, Bobbi Kristina?  That’s how it’s DONE, people.  Whitney wasn’t married to anyone–namely Bobbi Kristina’s father, singer Bobby Brown, and as such, any and all of Whitney’s estate should go to her surviving children.  As we know, Bobbi Kristina is Whitney’s only child.

via GossipCop.com

Houston, who died unexpectedly last month, signed the document in February 1993, one month before she and then-husband Bobby Brown welcomed Bobbi Kristina.

The will, which was amended in 2000, notes that all of Houston’s clothing, jewelery, furniture, personal items, and cars are to go to her surviving children.

Houston’s money will also be put into a trust for Bobbi Kristina, with the 19-year-old gaining part of it at ages 21 and 25, before getting the full amount when she turns 30.

While Houston’s mother Cissy is the will’s executor, her brother Gary and sister-in-law Patricia are the trustees.

It appears Whitney had all of her ducks in a row where her assets were concerned.  She and Bobby Brown also had an airtight pre-nuptial agreement that secured her own assets, and left Bobby to his own devices, if you will.

via RadarOnline.com

“Brown agrees that Houston shall have no legal obligation to support him, and that he shall have no right to require the payment of any alimony, support (including temporary support), or other maintenance, and no right to receive any rights, interests, or claims to Houston’s property, and Brown hereby waives releases, and forever renounces any and all such rights to the fullest extent permitted by law.”

In layman’s terms, “what’s mine is MINE, and what’s yours is YOURS! Smell ya later, and don’t ask me for spousal support!”.  (Even though Bobby did, on occasion, try to ask for spousal support from his ex-wife. Psssh.)

Let me ask you this: Would you leave anything to your ex-spouse in your Will?  These folks who think Whitney should have puzzle me. Doesn’t add up.

Oprah and Krissy

Oh, and I cannot wait to see Krissy interviewed by Oprah next Sunday on the OWN Network!

Whitney Houston – Autopsy Complete by Los Angeles County Coroner

Earlier this evening, while the Grammy Awards were in full-swing, the Los Angeles County Coroner completed the autopsy on Whitney Houston.  It’s eerie, really.  Just a mile or so down the road from The Staples Center, the preliminary results of Whitney’s autopsy are now locked away in a security hold as the toxicology report won’t be determined for 4 -6 weeks.

According to TMZ:

” …although the cause of death is unknown, it is increasingly looking like Whitney may have fallen asleep or lapsed into unconsciousness in the bathtub and drowned.

We’re told Whitney had been drinking the night before and authorities believe a combination of Xanax and alcohol could have fatally sedated her — although our sources say it is simply too early to draw any firm conclusions.”

Bobby Brown Arriving in Los Angeles

It’s all very sad that we do have a collective feeling about what may have occurred in that hotel room in Beverly Hills Saturday afternoon.  It’s also sad that Whitney’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina is on a suicide watch and may need to go to a rehabilitation center because of her profound grief over losing her mother.  Earlier this afternoon, her father Bobby Brown flew to Los Angeles to be with his daughter.
