After rumors that the famous ice cream company was going to be producing a special flavor based on the hilarious ‘Saturday Night Live’ skit, Ben & Jerry’s unveils it’s latest pint, ‘Schweddy Balls‘. Okay, stop giggling.
The flavor is based on Alec Baldwin‘s Pete Schweddy character, made famous in the NPR-parody “Delicious Dish” skits featuring Ana Gasteyer and Molly Shannon. The “balls” in the Fair Trade vanilla ice cream are made of rum and milk chocolate malt and covered in fudge.
Baldwin commented on the flavor in a release saying,
“For a long time, I thought that ‘Here Lies Pete Schweddy‘ would end up on my tombstone. Now, thanks to Ben & Jerry’s, the goodness of the Schweddy family recipe won’t go with me to the great beyond… It is immortalized here, right now, and it’s an ice cream. Ben & Jerry’s and Schweddy. Two great names in American dessert, together at last.”
I can’t wait to go to the grocery store and ask for Schweddy Balls. Thank you, Ben & Jerry’s!
