Two things first, where are the names COSMO and JEROME? I’ll give you a few seconds to ponder that…
Okay. I LOVE THE NAME. George Alexander Louis. My fingers were crossed for Alexander as the Prince’s first name, but I was also hoping for George. (In fact, my darling Cynthia and I predicted the name early last evening.) When hearing “George” with an English accent, it is completely different than hearing say, George Costanza in our harsh American accent. (Are we on the same page yet?)
Let’s all just take this in for a moment. I love tradition, I love the “fairy-tale” of this couple and I pray life goes smoothly for them.
Us Magazine reports that Kristen Bell is pregnant by long time partner and fellow actor Dax Shepard. The 32 year old Veronica Mars star feels very strongly about equal rights for all, so the pair will not be married until all US citizens are granted that basic right.
Shepard, currently starring in NBC’s Parenthood had previously told Larry King that neither he nor Bell were worried about having a child out of wedlock.
Bell first came to my attention with her small but memorable guest appearance on HBO’s Deadwood. As someone who adored Veronica Mars, I am so glad to see her return to the small screen in a quality role. Showtime’s House of Lies is excellent and if you didn’t know, you need to get on board for some Don Cheadle goodness!
The less I say about Parenthood the better.
With House of Lies returning on January 13, 2013, chances are her pregnancy won’t be factored into the upcoming season. But if you watch, feel free to speculate about what might happen.
If like you’re like ,me you were wondering why Charlize Theron was absent from the Academy Awards last month, it was because she had more important things to do, like adopt her first child. The actress announced earlier this month that she had adopted her son Jackson, now four months old, and she stepped out in Los Angeles with him for the first time. The African American baby boy was kept covered, but we’re sure he’s a cutie!
Also shielding her bundle of joy away from the cameras was Beyonce, who was out in NYC with her daughter Blue Ivy. The singer opted to carry her baby girl, ditching the Baby Bjorn, she was spotted sporting earlier this month, and if we’re not mistaken that looks like fur. It has been chillier this week than it has been recently so of course Bey wants to keep Blue warm, just don’t let PeTA get wind of this.
Joining the other new celebrity mom is Hilary Duff, she gave birth to son Luca Cruz just last week. This is the first child for her and husband, hockey player Mike Comrie. Duff seems to be adjusting to her role as mom pretty well, tweeting “Luca fed! Mamma fed! Time to do it all again in 2 hours!” and added, “Oh how life has changed! In such a wonderful way.” Luca was born a healthy 7 pounds, 6 ounces, so get used to those feedings, Hilary!
Also getting used to numerous feedings and changes are Supernatural star Jared Padalecki and his wife Genevieve Cortese who welcomed son Thomas Colton Padalecki on March 19. The baby boy weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces. When the couple announced they were expecting, in lieu of gifts they asked that fans donate to St. Jude’s Research Hospital. So far over $40,000 was raised and the couple plans to match that amount. What a lovely gesture all the way around.
While Jackson and Thomas are pretty normal names, Suburgatory, (one of my favorite shows on TV right now), star Jeremy Sisto and his wife Addie Lane decided to go with something a bit more unusual. They named their son, born March 9, Bastian Kick, which Sisto proudly tweeted that the baby “finally told us his name.” Bastian has an older sister named Charlie-Ballerina. Perhaps they chose this the same way they did Charlie-Ballerina’s name:
“My wife went through the dictionary, page by page, looking for words that weren’t normally names,” he explained on Live! With Kelly.
I can’t really judge weird baby names. Although Brittani is pretty common, I was named after a cartoon chipmunk.
