That photo up there? You see it? Yeah, it could be the best piece of acting Arnold has ever done in his career. It’s the old “I’m sorry I got CAUGHT“-face. (Unless we count all the times he cheated on Maria, then it’s a toss-up.)
Ack. My head hurts and the last a-hole I feel like writing about is Arnold Schwarzenegger. Seriously? He has to make an official announcement that he’s putting his career on hold for awhile? Huh? You don’t say! Are you SURE? I don’t know…it doesn’t add up. (Thank you, Daniel Tosh for that last line.)
All I know is that there is an entire family directly involved in this pile of crap (and a kid who’s in for a lot of unwanted attention, I’ll bet) who are all going to suffer hard for this big goon’s “transgressions”. Yeah, THANKS, Tiger Woods, for that word. Oddly enough though, having numerous extra-marital affairs and having a kid or three (just wait, you guys…there will be more), doesn’t a “transgression” make. I’d say it’s a more like a nuclear disaster on the home-front, but that’s just ME.
Thank goodness, our boys at South Park can at least make us smile a little bit. Oh, Matt and Trey. It’s never “too soon” as far as you’re concerned, is it?
Raise your hand if you’re surprised at the news today that Ahhhnold fathered a child with a member of his household staff. No one? I’ll wait. Seriously? No one? Oh wait. Maria? You’re excused from this mess.
So, yeah. Look who’s got a ten-year old kid from someone other than his wife. The gotdamn former Governor of California, that’s who. No bloody wonder the state went to hell in a handbasket. He had “better” things to do. (Pun NOT intended, but whatever.)
Here’s Arnold doing the public boo-hoo for the cameras because he’s just “so sorry” for getting caught and having the fess up for the sh*t storm he has dumped on his family.
“After leaving the governor’s office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago. I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry.
I ask that the media respect my wife and children through this extremely difficult time. While I deserve your attention and criticism, my family does not. “
What a gee-dee a-hole. I better not run into him in Sun Valley. I ain’t scurred.
Maria Shriver has released a brief statement regarding this whole mess:
“This is a painful and heartbreaking time. As a mother, my concern is for the children.”
She continued, “I ask for compassion, respect and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal. I will have no further comment.”
I expect Maria will probably keep to herself for a good while, and I don’t blame her. As any good mother, she is taking care of her kids–no matter what their ages, because it’s a rough situation for a family.
Meanwhile, Arnold and Maria’s son, Patrick has taken to Twitter:
Daaaang! The Ex-Governator, Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife, Maria Shriver have SPLIT.
Now, think about the timing. Ahhnold is no longer the Governor of California. I’d say Maria probably stayed with his doofus ass only until his time was UP. Lest you have forgotten about all the (alleged?) groping the action star has been accused of, think about it now. Now he’s in talks for all kinds of movie roles once again, so Maria is outta there.
“This has been a time of great personal and professional transition for each of us,” the statement read. “After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion and prayer, we came to this decision together. At this time, we are living apart while we work on the future of our relationship.
“We are continuing to parent our four children together. They are the light and the center of both of our lives.” We consider this a private matter and neither we nor any of our friends or family will have further comment. “We ask for compassion and respect from the media and the public.”
The odd couple met back in 1977, when NBC’s Tom Brokaw introduced Maria to Schwarzenegger at a charity tennis tournament. The two married in 1986, and have four children.
With their marriage, the Republican Schwarzenegger entered one of the most storied Democratic dynasties in America; Shriver is the daughter of the late Eunice Kennedy Shriver. Hmmmm…I wonder if Maria will go back to her Kennedy roots.
