Since we’re all scheduled to die on Friday, why not go out with some of our favorite tunes?
R.E.M. “It’s The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)” This is the most obvious thing to play, and you can make yourself dizzy trying to sing along to the lyrics. For a live and more ska version, check out No Doubt‘s cover during MTV‘s New Year’s Eve Bash when we all thought computers were going to kill us when we rolled over into 2000.
U2 “Last Night On Earth” While “Pop” wasn’t U2’s most successful album, I still think it was their most ambitious and it’s one of my favorites. This is one of the better cuts and it’s video features the last filmed appearance of William S. Burroughs. You can also check out their song “Until The End of The World” which appears on the soundtrack to the film of the same name.
Prince “1999” You gotta have a little Prince before you die. This one was popular going into the year 1999, but it still resonates today.
Justin Timberlake ft. Beyonce “Until The End Of Time” A slow burner if you plan on spending the apocalypse with your boo.
Britney Spears “Till The World Ends” Get together with your besties, dance it out and remember all the good times.
Like when you thought Brit and Timberlake were going to be together forever.
Soundgarden “Blow Up The Outside World” One of the darker songs from DiC faves Soundgarden. Their hit “The Day I Tried To Live” also works.
