Yep. We sat through the entire awards show, but that ain’t no big thang. We always do, because it’s like my job or something. That sure doesn’t mean I don’t have biases or favorites, right? I wouldn’t be the opinionated human sack of gossip you’ve grown to barely tolerate love. Right? RIGHT???

Meh. Pitbull is okay, I guess.
Meh. Pitbull is okay, I guess.

So…here are the winners, and I don’t have too many complaints aside from Pitbull trying his hand at a hosting gig and the  Best New Artist…which clearly should have been awarded to our town’s  Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, forpitysake. YOU know it and I know it; so let’s just move along.

And one more time:

WHAAAA??? ME????
WHAAAA??? ME????

Overall, the shows was okay. I really was hoping for some wins for Bruno Mars, which would’ve given us a hot performance, but alas–Timberlake won those awards.  I did notice the  not-too-subtle public shaming of Robin Thicke. Hmmmmm…Not all the surprising.

Even Miley was decent; although her staging was, well–odd?

WTAF? Oh. Right. “She’s just bein’ Maaaahleee, y’all.”

One more thing: How great did Joan Jett and Dave Grohl look? LOVE THEM!

Overall, what did alla ya’ll think? Anyone with me on the Bruno Mars sitch?  Did ABC think they’d get more viewers/higher ratings with Timberlake winning performing? Just as simple questions; don’t LEAP all over me.

The Very Meh American Music Awards Red Carpet

The ‘American Music Awards’ were Sunday night, and as expected the red carpet looks left much to be desired. The show wasn’t all that great either. Mostly everyone looked presentable, as if to say they would rather be home watching ‘The Walking Dead’ than waste a good outfit on this thing. So here are the good, bad and meh of the AMAs red carpet.

katy

Katy Perry in Oscar De La Renta

ariana grande

Ariana Grande and lots of added hair. This girl only seems to have one expression, and to add to the Mariah comparisons, apparently she only has one good side.

heidi

Heidi Klum in Marchesa, naturally.

one direction

The boys of One Direction. They look so happy to be there, don’t they?

nicole

Nicole Richie in white.

xtina

Christina Aguilera, also in a white Maria Lucia Hohan dress .

kesha

Ke$ha, looking pretty good actually.

zendaya

Zendaya Coleman, looking a bit 70s-ish

joan jett

Joan Jett being her usual bad ass self.

zoe saldana

Zoe Saldana in whatever this is.

imagine dragons

The guys in Imagine Dragons all have the same tailor.

jhud

Great colors on Jennifer Hudson, just wish the fit was better.

miley

Miley Cyrus not looking a hot mess.

ciara

Ciara, not looking pregnant like she reportedly is.

taylor

No long dress for Taylor Swift this time.

naya rivera

Naya Rivera, channeling Morticia Addams.

kendall and kylie

Kendall and Kylie Jenner, still without adult supervision.

gaga

Last but not least, Lady Gaga arrived on a horse made of people. Because why not?

TOP SOUNDTRACK
“The Great Gatsby: Music From Baz Luhrmann’s Film”
“Les Miserables”
“Pitch Perfect”

I know this isn’t the most popular statement I could make, but I’m just gonna say it–I really, really loathe The Lumineers and Mumford & Sons.  Like ear bleed and migraine-type loathe. Whewwwww…that felt good to say.  I’d rather listen to Blurred Lines  on a  loop all summer long than listen to those cardboard box-kicking goons. Wait.  I did do just that…

Also? No Bowie? FFS.
