If you thought that there were a couple of actors missing from the Golden Globes red carpet, it’s because Miuccia Prada had them walking in her latest show. Gary Oldman and Tim Roth were among the actors that modeled in Prada‘s Fall/Winter 2012 Mens show in Milan, Italy. Apparently there was no special reason to have the actors in the show, but the designer told WWD that “Clothing is also a tool of power and a way to express male vanity.” Nothing wrong with that. Women do it everyday.
Along with Oldman and Roth, Emile Hirsch, Willem Defoe, Adrien Brody, Jamie Bell, Alex and Victor Carril and a bouncy Garrett Hedlund showed off expertly tailored coats and suits, fitting right in with the real models.
I think Gary, Adrien and Willem had the best walks, and dare I say it, the most swag.
You might remember that Tim was featured in a couple of Prada ads back in 1996, you can catch Boardwalk Empire star Michael Pitt in them now.
Courtney is trying to reinvent herself as some sort of worldly fashionista, saying in a recent New York Times interview that she’d “like to be trusted again.” Maybe she still shouldn’t be trusted with money.
At director Paul Haggis’s “Artists For Peace and Justice” fund raiser, C. Love bid $17,000 for a tea date with actor Adrian Brody. The event was held to help raise money to build schools in Haiti.
Courtney was reportedly trying to outbid Adrien’s friend, Gerard Butler. She also snagged a walk-on role in Haggis’ next movie. Susan Sarandon, Salman Rushdie and Russell Crowe were also in attendance.
It was for a good cause, so I’ll cut her a break, but she has talked extensively about her money problems. I think she should have just let Gerard win that one.
