Oprah’s Not-So Surprising Guests on Final Shows

The Big O

Many lucky fans and guests were on hand at the United Center in Chicago for the taping of “Surprise Oprah! A Farewell Spectacular“, put together by her producers. Oprah has stated many times that she can’t be surprised, so I’m wondering how they put all of this together. More than 154,000 people requested tickets for the two show tapings, which will air May 23 and 24.

Guests included friends Tom Cruise and wife Katie Holmes, Tom Hanks, Halle Berry and performances by Pattie LaBelle and Beyonce. Beyonce was said to be unhappy with her first performance of her latest single “Girls (Who Run The World)” so she performed it again.

There was also a video tribute from Tina Fey and Steve Carrell, and Madonna revealed a secret. The second hour features Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, Jamie Foxx, Stevie Wonder and a couple of doctors she made famous, Dr. Mehmet Oz and Dr. Phil McGraw.

Oprah is going out big and I’m so sad I’ll never get to go to one of her shows or get free lotion from her. Expect lots of dancing, crying and free stuff. Also, in honor of her 25th Anniversary, Oprah announced that 25 new school libraries would be built, and 25,000 tress planted around the country. So how did all of these celebs gather in Chicago without being noticed? A source from the Huffington Post says everyone stayed at Chicago’s Peninsula Hotel and used aliases, except Simon Cowell.

What on earth will we do without Oprah??

  1. [...] Oprah‘s determined to go out with a bang: she managed to rope Ralph Lauren into giving his first interview in twenty years on one of her final shows [SheFinds], but that’s nothing compared to the star power of her series finale guests. The talk show’s farewell has already been filmed, and will air next Monday and Tuesday. It features Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Beyonce, Madonna, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, Dakota Fanning, Tom Hanks, and Doctors Oz & Phil. Oprah used the finale to announce that she’d be building 25 libraries and planting 25,000 trees across the US in honor of her 25 years as a talk show host. She presented each audience member with a gift bag that included keys to a brand new house and a gift certificate for laser tattoo removal. [DippedInCream] [...]
