In the new trailer for ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2′ Peter Parker looks out to the city he’s taken the responsibility of protecting says to himself, “Every day I wake up knowing that the more people I try to save, the more enemies I will make.” Spidey does has a number of enemies this time around, including some blue dude, his former best friend and those pesky teenage hormones.
This looks to be darker than the previous film, as most comic book movies tend to be. Peter receives a message from his father about OSCORP misusing his technology. The same corporation that had Spider-man under surveillance. It’ll be interesting to see if this film avoids the same issue that ‘Spider-Man 3′, and lots of other super hero sequels have, faced with there simply being too many villains. We’ve got The Green Goblin, Rhino, Electro and some mysterious figure who could be another member of The Sinister Six. Read the comics, people! There are enough easter eggs in the trailer to keep fans guessing about what the film has in store.
Directed by Marc Webb, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2′ stars Andrew Garfield, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, Dane DeHaan, Emma Stone, Chris Cooper, Sally Field and Campbell Scott. It hits theaters on May 2.
