Grammys Give Lame Apology To Trent Reznor For Cutting Closing Performance Short

Nearly a week after the Grammy Awards aired, the producers of the televised event offered Trent Reznor one of those “apologies” (#sorrynotsorry) we all hate: “Oh, I’m sorry that you feel that way“. If you’ll recall, Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age and Dave Grohl’s closing performance was cut–and Trent was none too pleased.

I’m sorry he was upset. I was really thrilled that we were finally getting him on the Grammys. The final jam started with Arcade Fire a few years ago, and LL Cool J last year. I wanted to end on a high, an up note. I did tell them we’d take it as long as we could. The number was about five, six minutes long, and we got to within a minute twenty of the end. We got as close as we could possibly get.”

Well? What did they expect? Good lucky getting Trent to return to the Grammys any time soon. He was also sticking up for the other dudes, obviously. There were many opportunities to cut throughout the broadcast so as not to irritate and disrespect our Darling Trent and Friends.  Oh, and don’t go looking for the performance on YouTube, because THIS is what you’ll see:

Nope. No. Nope.
