Check Out Jennifer Lopez’s Sexy New Video for ‘First Love’ Featuring David Gandy

JLo-DavidGandy

Jennifer Lopez has done three videos this year, and only two of them featured Pitbull, but I think the fourth might be the charm. For her latest single First Love,” she escapes to the desert to writhe around in fabulous clothes, and get super sexy with model David Gandy. The video gives me throwback Janet Jackson in “Love Will Never Do (Without You)” feels. Very Herb Ritts, don’t you think?

First Love will appear on A.K.A.,’ Lopez’s eighth studio album, due out on June 13. I love this studio version more than her live performances, which I can say she has been killing with the choreography. If this is your first time seeing Mr. Gandy, well…

Laverne Cox Covers Time Magazine

tumblr_n6c3zhahFQ1qdr8lwo1_500

Orange Is The New Black star and trans rights activist Laverne Cox graces the cover for an upcoming issue of TIME magazine. This all comes after she was suspiciously left off TIME’s 100 Most Influential list this year, even though she came fifth place on the mag’s online poll. Whether it’s meant to appease fans, or say “whoops, we effed up,” Cox is more than deserving of the profile.

The actress discusses being bullied as a child, and the time when she realized that she was transgender:

I tell this story about third grade. My third grade teacher called my mom and said ‘Your son is going to end up in New Orleans wearing a dress.’ Up until that point I just thought that I was a girl and that there was no difference between girls and boys. I think in my imagination I thought that I would hit puberty and I would start turning into a girl.”

After overcoming depression, which led to a suicide attempt, Cox says that she does consider herself a happy person, saying

I’m so busy and I’m living my dream. I feel like myself and I feel pretty integrated, like the person that I am inside is who the world is seeing, which feels calming.”

She mentions that a great support system and therapy have also helped her to cope with her childhood trauma. And for people that still don’t understand, or refuse to, what it means to be a trans man or woman, she offers up some great advice,

“People need to be willing to let go of what they think they know about what it means to be a man and what it means to be a woman. Because that doesn’t necessarily mean anything inherently. Folks are just really uncomfortable with that sense of uncertainty, or that shift.”

You can read the whole cover story when the issue hits newsstands on June 9. If you’re missing Sophia Burset and the rest of OITNB gang, Netflix will start streaming the second season of the series on June 6!

Seattle Seahawks Win Super Bowl XLVIII – Sports Illustrated Cover – FINALLY Getting Some Respect?

SI-Seahawks

Oh, it was a “boring” game. “Real football fans were bored to tears.”  Or, “You call THAT a RIOT?” regarding the city-wide mob of happiness that swept over OUR CITY last night. Yeah, the frat boys and girls at U-Dub made a big, fat bonfire out of couches and mattresses.  (They probably saved the Seattle Health Department a trip by burning those nasty household furnishings, because ewww.)

There’s a great and hilarious post over on Deadspin.com (that I wish I had written), complete with photos from last night’s celebration.

I came across a video posted (and narrated) by our own Rock God, Chris Cornell about the city of Seattle and our Seahawks. Take a moment, won’t you? Oh, and I LOVE Soundgarden’sWave” used as the soundtrack.

Songwriters: CORNELL/THAYIL of Soundgarden
Take, if you want a slice
If you want a piece
If it feels alright
Break, if you like the sound
If it gets you up
If it brings you downShare, if it makes you sleep
If it sets you free
If it helps you breathe
Don’t come over here
And piss on my gate
Save it just keep it
Off my wave

Cry, if you want to cry

If it helps you see

If it clears your eyes

Hate, if you want to hate
If it keeps you safe
If it makes you brave

Pray, if you want to pray
If you like to kneel
If you like to lay

Don’t come over here
And piss on my gate
Save it just keep it
Off my wave

Keep it off my wave
Keep it off my wave
Keep it off my wave

My wave

Cry, if you want to cry
If it helps you see
If it clears your eyes

Hate, if you want to hate
If it keeps you safe
If it makes you brave

Take, if you want a slice
If you want a piece
If it feels alright

Don’t come over here
And piss on my gate
Save it just keep it
Off my wave

My wave.

OUR WAVE.
And by the way, It’s official: the Seattle Seahawks SUPER BOWL WIN was the most-watched television event in U.S. history, EVER. Boring? I took a Facebook poll. Seems that it was “boring” in the sense that Bronco fans–and Seattle haters–put all their Sunday Faith in their “savior”  Peyton Manning. Say with me (and Manning)…
MANNING-OHSHIT
…12 seconds into the game.
“OH SHIT!!”
I learned a new phrase today, thanks to my girl Honey: “Tax that ass” as in, “No one in Broncos Country seemed to realize is the Seahawks had their number and were about to tax that ass like they did most of their season.”

What was that score again?
