Let’s Discuss That Whole Solange, Jay Z, Beyonce Elevator Mess

Two days ago, I started writing about the now infamous elevator tussle (?) wherein Solange Knowles tried to kick the crap out of her brother-in-law Jay Z, while her sister, Beyonce just stood and watched it all go down, but then I just stopped writing. I couldn’t get myself into all of the what if’s and why’s.

The video, which TMZ paid upwards of $250,000 for obtained, can be viewed HERE if you somehow, on God’s Green Earth, haven’t seen the blurry footage yet.

Keep smilin', Bey.
Keep smilin’, Bey.

Families fight, we can all agree to that, yes? Personally speaking, my family members prefer the passive-aggressive freeze-out after some nasty words are spit out, so we all have our own special methods of dysfunction. The thing about Beyonce is that she’s done her level best to throw a sheen of perfection on everything she says, does, and sings about. Even her beautiful ballad, “Flaws and All” is, well, FLAWLESS.

Rumors are flying every which way as to why Solange lost her shit in the elevator.  Some say she had too much to drink, some say she was merely tipsy. Some say Jay was straight up trying to party with Rihanna while his wife was being sent home, and Solange wasn’t having any of it. The only people who truly know what was shouted in that elevator are the four people inside that closed space. (Remember, bodyguard Julian was there to hold Solange back from Jay Z.)

I have some questions, for YOU, my Dollies.

"Don't look at me! I'm hideous!" JUST KIDDING.
“Don’t look at me! I’m hideous!” JUST KIDDING.

Should there be public outrage (see Chris Brown)  that Solange attacked Jay Z in the first place? Do we applaud Jay Z for not fighting back? Who acts like this after the Met Gala? Do we just love to see a REAL Behind the Scenes clip of the Perfect Carter/Knowles Family–as opposed to the HBO version Beyonce gave us in “Life Is But A Dream”? Beyonce prides herself on being real, but that “documentary” was ridiculous. Wigs, fake baby bellies, “no make-up, I wake up looking this FLAWLESS“-pseudo perfection. I was in Full-Body Eyeroll-mode for two hours. Go look at Bey’s Instagram account. It’s PERFECT, right down to the Pepsi product placement, snuggly pics of Jay, and yes, lots of shots of li’l sister Solange. (I hear-tell Solange deleted all photos of Beyonce on HER Instagram account, though.) We’re really getting some 7th grade girl behavior hard.

Anyway. What. The. HELL, you guys? I need your help on this.

Jimmy Fallon Is Officially Taking Over ‘The Tonight Show’ – Moving Show To New York City

In news that surprises no one, Jimmy Fallon has inherited The Tonight Show’ from Jay LenoNBC confirmed rumors on Wednesday that Fallon would be taking over for Leno next Spring, and both hosts took the chance to address the the big news during their shows.

Hello! Welcome! This is Late Night with Jimmy Fallon…For now, Fallon joked during Wednesday’s taping. He went on to say, “You guys probably heard the news – I’m going to be taking over the Tonight Show next February! But don’t worry. Until February, our focus is right here on whatever this show is called…I want to thank everyone here at Late Night, the staff, the crew, and of course The Roots. I have to say thanks to Jay Leno for being so gracious. It means so much to me to have his support. I just want to thank the fans for staying up to 12:35am and watching us.”

Of course Jay couldn’t help taking another swipe at NBC’s low ratings, and his old rival David Letterman during his monologue.

I got to be honest with you, I had a really awkward day today. I had to call David Letterman and tell him he didn’t get ‘The Tonight Show’ again. Awful! Terrible.” If that didn’t make you roll your eyes, he also said, “I have just one request for Jimmy: We’ve all fought, kicked and scratched, to get this network up to fifth place, now we have to keep it there! Jimmy, don’t let it slip into sixth!

Dave’s the “old guy” now…with the two Jimmys!

Letterman also addressed the news on his show, getting in a dig at Leno and NBC’s history of backtracking.

It seems like we just went through this. Didn’t we just go through this? Jay Leno now is being replaced, and this is the second time this has happened. I mean, it’s crazy. He’s being replaced by a younger late-night talk show host — what could possibly go wrong?  Honestly. They had pretty good luck with this in the past.”

The man has a point. Is Jay really leaving this time around? I don’t hate Leno or anything, but the way he and the network screwed over Conan O’Brien back in 2010 left a bad impression that has made me dislike him ever since. To be fair, some of ‘The Tonight Show”s issues during Conan’s short lived stint were O’Brien’s fault. I didn’t think he would bring in the silly sketches that made him so likable on ‘Late Night,’ but there was something missing that kept me, a Conan fan, from tuning in.

I wish Jimmy luck, and if the other rumors are true and the show will be moving back to New York, I don’t think Fallon will have the same trouble with the show that Conan did. Of course, now Fallon will be going up against Letterman, and the other other Jimmy, but given the success Kimmel has had this might show that the younger, and frankly funnier, guys are taking over. But can we get a female or minority late night host, please?!

Lindsay Lohan Is Due In NYC Court Monday Morning. Will She Show?

Lindsay and the woman she allegedly smacked up, Tiffany the Psychic

With a court date in New York fast approaching, Lindsay Lohan let off a little steam last night/this morning by partying in London with a few friends until 5:00 AM.

LiLo has been ordered to appear in a NYC court on Monday … a result of her run-in with a psychic in a New York club back in November.

Lohan will be there to answer a desk appearance ticket, so a number of things could happen — a future court date could be set, she could enter a plea … those are just a few of the options.

If she doesn’t show, a warrant will be issued for her arrest.

So.  Is  this raggedy, rough and overwrought nutcase going to show up to court?  Will she get even MORE probation?  Not for one second do I believe she’ll be punished in any way for violating probation or breaking any laws–again.

I have to say, Lindsay’s relationship with attorneys and judges is similar to her relationship with her parents.  Linds says it’s not her fault; everyone throws up their hands and dismisses her to go out and do more damage.
