I’ve been watching NBC‘s ‘The Voice‘ from the beginning, but this is the first season that I won’t be watching from beginning to end. I’m a little weary of the show in general, but maybe it’s time for it to return to a once a year show.
The Instant Save was introduced to keep the show exciting, but it didn’t really matter on Tuesday night’s elimination show. Instead of sending home two contestants, three were eliminated, upsetting a lot of the show’s fans. The remaining eight were split up into the top and bottom four, which left two of my favorites, Sisaundra Lewis and Delvin Choice on the chopping block along with Audra McLaughlin and Kat Perkins. After some stellar last songs, and pleas from their respective coaches, it was left up to the public to decide who would go on. Perkins won the Instant Save, but with two of the show’s best singers now gone, I don’t have much of an interest in watching for the rest of the season.
It’s not that the remaining singers aren’t good, but Sisaundra and Delvin brought a nice dose of soul to the show. With Audra gone, Blake Shelton only has one other singer in the game, along with Usher and Shakira. Adam Levine still has two chances to win. To spice things up for the next season, Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams will be joining the show as coaches.
They performed together on Monday night’s episode. I love them both, so I’ll definitely be watching, but for now, I’m taking a break from ‘The Voice.’
